Generally speaking, psychologists provide assessment and therapy/ counselling services to those with mental health difficulties and/or serious mental illness. Psycho-diagnostic assessments help to identify mental health issues and mental illness, and subsequently assist in generating effective treatment recommendations. Assessments utilize standardized psychological testing questionnaires or psychological inventories, as well as client interviews to arrive at a diagnosis and course of treatment.
